Patient Link
The Patient Link is a Patient Participation Group which was started in March 2010 and has held regular meetings since.
The group was set up with a view to improving communication between the practice and patients to ensure that patients are fully aware of all the services offered by the practice.
The group of patients and practice staff meet regularly and have a number of ongoing projects including the website and regular newsletters.
There is a notice board in the entrance hall which will keep you informed of all the developments. Please feel free to make any suggestions.
About the Patient Link
The Patient Link has been going for nearly a year now and I think, we feel quite pleased with what we have achieved.
When we first met none of us knew quite what to expect. Some of the members had been approached by one of the GP’s as to whether they would be interested in coming to the group. A few people had volunteered. From that first meeting we have a strong core but we would welcome new members.
We meet approximately every two months and this has been on a Tuesday evening, lasting 1½ hours. Meetings are relaxed and have been ably led by Dr Searle with great support from Julie and Bridgette. Discussions have been full of ideas and enthusiasm and of course we have something to show for our first year. The newsletter is proving popular and one of our ‘jobs’ has been to help with distribution. Some members keep the notice board updated and help has also been given with launching the website.
We are aware everyone has different skills, motives and objectives in joining the Patient Link Group.
Most importantly we are all patients at the Mosborough Practice and have the best interest of both our Doctors, staff and fellow patients at heart. We hope that by offering some of our time voluntarily our Practice can achieve things that the staff just do not have the time to do.
Are you interested in joining us? No special skills are required, every adult has something to give. We have more ideas about what we would like to do in the future but are determined to take it slowly and make a success of what we do. To achieve our ideas we would like more members.
